(Patria) - The first official act signed by the acting president of that entity, Ana Trišić Babić, has been published in the Official Gazette of the RS.
It is a decree annulling unconstitutional laws previously adopted by the National Assembly of the RS, which the Constitutional Court of BiH declared unconstitutional.
This is the first act signed by the newly appointed acting president of the RS since she took office on October 22.
The decree concerns the promulgation of the Law on the Cessation of Validity of Laws, and we quote the key part from the Official Gazette of the RS:
"I hereby promulgate the Law on the Cessation of Validity of Laws, adopted by the National Assembly of the RS at its Twenty-seventh Special Session, held on October 18, 2025, and the Council of Peoples on October 21, 2025, stated that the adopted Law on the Cessation of Validity of Laws does not pertain to the vital national interest of any of the constituent peoples in the RS, thereby fulfilling the formal-legal conditions for the adoption of the decree".
The day before the decree was published, the Official Gazette of the RS published the decision appointing Ana Trišić Babić as acting president of the RS, thereby formally granting her the authority to sign such acts.
These laws were previously annulled by the Constitutional Court of BiH, with Ana Trišić Babić's new decree merely formally confirming earlier court decisions and ensuring legal compliance with the Constitution.
