(Patria) - The number of coronavirus infections in Norway as of April 7, 2020 continues to rise but slowly, now standing at 5,866 positive cases. The BiH Embassy in this country and Ambassador Nedim Makarević have a report that three BiH citizens in Norway are infected with the coronavirus.
"The number of deaths has increased to 78 and the number of hospitalized is 314. There are 83 seriously ill patients in intensive care. If these data are compared with data from previous days, it can be concluded that the number of new infections in Norway has been declining for the fifth consecutive day, that the number of hospitalized is also slightly declining, as well as the number of the most severe patients on ventilators (down by 19 percent).
Based on these data, optimism has grown in Norway, and Bent Hole, the Norwegian Minister of Health, stated yesterday that the coronavirus is under control in Norway. However, the Institute of Public Health in Norway calls for caution and claims that based on these latest data there is reason for optimism, but it is still too early to declare the end of the fight against the virus," said Ambassador Makarević in his report.
Norwegian Prime Minister Erna Solberg stated that her government is satisfied with how the emergency measures to combat the coronavirus in Norway have been implemented and that based on these measures, the exponential growth of new infections has been stopped, which allowed the country's health system to cope with the first wave of the epidemic without great patient pressure.
"The Prime Minister believes that the government's restrictive measures will not be completely lifted even after April 13, 2020, until which the current measures last, but that after April 13, the Norwegian Institute of Public Health will make a new assessment and proposals for necessary measures to completely eradicate the virus hotspots in Norway," Makarević stated.
There are still a number of BiH citizens in Norway who wish to return to BiH.
"The Norwegian airline Norwegian has closed reservations for the Oslo-Sarajevo flight on May 2, 2020, but it is completely uncertain whether this flight will take place or, like the previous one, be postponed," he added.
