Shops Allowed to Operate to Extend Working Hours Until 6:30 PM

(Patria) - The Civil Protection Staff of Sarajevo Canton, led by commander and minister Nihada Glamoč, began today's Fifth regular session with an analysis of the previous 24-hour situation in the Canton caused by the coronavirus outbreak, as well as measures and activities being undertaken to implement all previously adopted orders, the ultimate goal of which is to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

After that, the Staff adopted five (5) new orders. The first order directs the Cantonal Civil Protection Administration of KS to allocate all available quantities of protective masks, gloves, protective suits, bags, and disinfectants from its reserves and make them available to the Civil Protection Staff of KS, which will distribute them according to priorities.

The second order extends, until further notice, the order on the temporary suspension of operations of all shops in shopping malls, except for grocery stores and pharmacies in the Sarajevo Canton. The third order mandates that the aforementioned shops that are allowed to provide their services organize their work until 6:30 PM, with the exception of on-duty pharmacies. These include the following shops: hygiene product stores, grocery stores, fish markets, butcher shops, pharmacies, specialized stores for medical and veterinary products and equipment, agricultural pharmacies, gas stations, kiosks, bakeries, dry cleaners, specialized stores for orthopedic and other aids, specialized stores for children's equipment, pet food stores, construction, plumbing, and electrical material stores, logistics and distribution centers for food, beverages, and hygiene products, wholesale drugstores, bookstores, auto parts stores, car services, and car washes.

Based on the Conclusion of the KS Government, the Staff issued an order prohibiting all gatherings of more than 20 people, public and private, while at gatherings of up to 20 people, social distancing and all prescribed epidemiological protection measures must be strictly observed. Also, based on the Conclusion of the KS Government, an order was issued for the Public Institution General Hospital "Prim. dr. Abdulah Nakaš" to assess its material, technical, and human capacities in order to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus and, if necessary, to engage additional resources by concluding business cooperation agreements with them.
