Trebević in Flames: Firefighters on the Scene Powerless Because the Terrain Is Mined

The terrain is inaccessible, and the fire has appeared in the same location as last month. However, this time it broke out on a mined site, so firefighters on the ground cannot begin extinguishing it, say officials from the Fire Department of the City of East Sarajevo.

Trebević is in flames, low vegetation is burning, and the fire is visible from the very center of the city.

- The entire shift of our workers has headed toward the fire site. The reasons for the outbreak of the fire are not yet known - added officials from the Professional Fire Brigade of East Sarajevo.

The cause of the fire is not yet known, but given the high temperatures, even a small spark was enough to ignite the vegetation.

As confirmed to Patria by the Sarajevo Professional Fire Brigade, they are still not on the scene because they have not received a report that the fire has spread to the territory of Sarajevo Canton.
