Mostar Saga Continues: Property Re-registered to EP HZHB

It has been quite politically turbulent in Mostar for about 15 days. Not that there is a lack of reasons for turbulence in the city on the Neretva, and a new one has been brought by a highly controversial decision of the Cadastre Service of the City of Mostar, or rather, multiple decisions as it turns out these days.

It all started with a decision from the Service signed by the Head of the Urban Planning Department, Dragana Parmać, where a large portion of the property belonging to the City, the Meshihat, Elektroprivreda BiH, or private owners, was registered as the possession of Elektroprivreda HZHB. This was further tarnished by the fact that the cases were not handled by a civil servant, but by a worker engaged on a contract basis, and no less than from a neighboring canton.

Following public reactions and an administrative inspection requested by the President of the City Council of Mostar, Đani Rahimić, Elektroprivreda BiH was retroactively included as a party in the proceedings.

A few days ago, the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the management of Elektroprivreda BiH informed the public that the problem had been resolved, that the cadastre had issued a new decision, and returned the possession to Elektroprivreda BiH. However, the story did not end there.

While most citizens were resting during the May Day holidays and planning their long weekend, it was busy at the Mostar cadastre.

As Vijesti.ba has learned, new decisions concerning the same matter were written, which are in our editorial office's possession, and urban planning has once again changed the ownership structure of parcels in the city of Mostar, again in favor of the same public company, to the detriment of another company, but also the city of Mostar.

In addition to the reaction of those responsible, the genuine reaction of the FBiH and the Government of the FBiH will be important, given that the appellate body is the Federal Geodetic Administration, which has been managed for decades by HDZ cadre Željko Obradović.

State Property in Focus?

The second segment of this case concerns state property, given that by the cadastre's decision, even a river was transferred to Elektroprivreda HZHB, which constitutes a violation of the law on real rights, as well as a prohibition on disposing of state property, considering that this issue has been resolved through several rulings of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SDA representative Šerif Špago has sent a request to the state attorney to protect state property, which is being completely illegally usurped by Mostar's urban planning through decisions made on the orders of Mayor Mario Kordić.
