Traditional Reception of Four Embassies in Sarajevo: Bosnians Make a Huge Contribution to Nordic Societies

(Patria) - The Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Norway, and Sweden in Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a traditional reception at the Botanical Garden of the National Museum of BiH to mark Nordic cooperation.

- Today we celebrate the close cooperation, connection, and friendship between our Nordic countries - an extremely close relationship that has lasted for a very long time. This closeness exists at all levels - from the highest levels of government to personal relationships.

We are also here to celebrate the friendship and cooperation between our Nordic countries and Bosnia and Herzegovina - stated the Ambassador of Denmark, Åge Sandal Møller.

The Nordic ambassadors highlighted the strong partnership between their countries and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the continuous support for democratic processes, the rule of law, human rights, and its European perspective.

It was also emphasized that Nordic countries are among the largest donors of development cooperation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- By supporting reforms in the areas of the rule of law, judiciary, media freedom, fight against corruption, gender equality, migration, reconciliation, taxation, and statistics, we want to bring Bosnia and Herzegovina closer to the European Union.

Nordic countries strongly support Bosnia and Herzegovina's efforts for accession to the European Union, as well as the country's transatlantic integration - stated the Ambassador of Sweden, Helena Lagerlöf.

It was stated that Nordic countries remain committed to strengthening cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina through support for reform processes, the development of sustainable policies, and the improvement of social inclusion and regional cooperation.

- By speaking with one voice and acting together, our countries are stronger, our messages carry more weight, and our common impact becomes much more significant.

In today's increasingly uncertain global environment, our common values - democracy, trust, equality, and the rule of law - are more important than ever. They also shape our engagement here in BiH and across the Western Balkans.

- Through contributions to the EUFOR mission, support for projects, and Norway's role as the NATO contact embassy in Sarajevo, Nordic countries continue to support stability, security, and Euro-Atlantic integration - said the Ambassador of Norway, Kathrine Biering.

The reception gathered numerous guests from the political, diplomatic, academic, cultural, and business communities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as representatives of the international community, civil society, and friends of the Nordic countries.

- I want to draw attention to the Bosnian diaspora in the Nordic countries. It can be safely said that Bosnians are extremely well-integrated and make a huge contribution to Nordic societies. They represent an important link between our countries - concluded the Ambassador of Finland to BiH, Sirpa Oksanen.

Nordic countries remain committed to supporting a democratic and prosperous Bosnia and Herzegovina, in which strong institutions, respect for the rule of law, and an empowered civil society contribute to long-term stability, accountability, and the well-being of all citizens.
