Traditional Martyrs' Prayer Tomorrow in Žepa in Memory of Victims of Aggression and Genocide against Bosniaks

(Patria) - Organized by the Muftiship of Goražde and the Islamic Community Council of Žepa, the traditional martyrs' prayer will be recited tomorrow in that town, in memory of the victims of aggression and genocide against Bosniaks of that region and marking the Day of Remembrance of the fall of that UN Safe Zone.

Head of the Department for Religious Affairs and Education of the Muftiship of Goražde, Refik ef. Čaušević, recalls that the Council of Muftis of the Islamic Community, in its fatwa on the genocide against Bosniaks, adopted on July 3, 2015, declared the localities of Srebrenica and Žepa as martyrdom sites of the genocide against Bosniaks.

– July is the month of remembrance of the most difficult days, and remembrance is a permanent obligation, so that history does not repeat itself. Our duty is to remind future generations of the suffering of Bosniaks but also of the heroism of the best sons of Bosnia and Herzegovina, not out of hatred, but so that we may boldly step into the future with knowledge of the past – emphasized ef. Čaušević.

He notes that a suitable program will be organized on the plateau of the Memorial Complex Žepa 1992-1995 and in the mosque of the martyr Mehmed-ef. Hajrić.

– With the presence of representatives of the Islamic Community, associations, and officials at the entity and state level, a suitable program in Žepa will be performed tomorrow by imams from the area of the Muftiship of Goražde, the choir of the Gazi Husrev-bey Madrasa, and dervishes of the Hadži Sinan Tekke, as well as members of the Youth Network of the Muftiship of Goražde – specified Čaušević.
