Toplane Sarajevo to launch thermal water research in Ilidža area

(Patria) - Based on the Project of hydrogeological research of thermal waters in the Ilidža area for the needs of district heating, KJKP Toplane Sarajevo has obtained Approval for the service of conducting hydrogeological research of thermomineral waters at the Lužani site, Ilidža municipality, with the ultimate goal of utilizing renewable energy sources in the district heating system.

The technical requirements for the hydrogeological research service arose from the research objective to establish an exploratory-experimental-exploitation well in the Ilidža area for the needs of KJKP Toplane Sarajevo's district heating.

There are four boiler plants owned by KJKP Toplane Sarajevo in the Ilidža municipality, whose heating system supplies approximately 1,805 residential units and 137 business premises.

Of these four boiler plants, three are hot water (Mala Aleja, Tome Međe, and Mlade Bosne) and one is a steam boiler plant (Lužani).

The project idea relates to the possibility of utilizing thermal energy from geothermal water for the needs of the aforementioned boiler plants, primarily the three hot water boiler plants.

In addition, the implementation of this project would be of great social significance, as it would improve the quality of life in the Ilidža area from multiple aspects.

The implementation of this project introduces a new heating method that reduces the use of natural gas and contributes to improving air quality.

The use of natural domestic resources of renewable energy sources eliminates dependence on developments in the global energy trading scene.

The idea of utilizing geothermal water in the process of delivering thermal energy represents an innovative method and approach to the development of KJKP Toplane Sarajevo.

In accordance with the above, a public procurement tender has been announced for the execution of hydrogeological research of thermal waters at the site of Ilidža municipality.

All interested and qualified companies that meet the prescribed conditions are invited to apply for the tender and submit their offers in accordance with the tender documentation and established deadlines.
