Increased traffic on roads in BiH during the day

(Patria) - The last working day of this week will mean for many the start of a journey, so during the day we expect increased vehicle traffic on roads in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as at most border crossings. In the morning hours, there is fog along river courses, reducing visibility. We advise extremely cautious driving and compliance with all traffic regulations.

On main roads: Dobro Polje-Miljevina, Tuzla-Bijeljina and Jablanica-Blidinje, traffic is allowed for vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes, while traffic for vehicles over 3.5 tonnes remains suspended.

Due to road surface rehabilitation works, the A-1 Kakanj-Lašva motorway section (3 km long) is closed, and vehicles are being redirected to two-way traffic on the opposite side of the motorway.

On the A-1 motorway sections Sarajevo North-Podlugovi, Sarajevo West-Lepenica and Bijača-Počitelj (Hercegovina Bridge), due to ongoing works, traffic has been redirected to the passing lane.

Due to rehabilitation works, traffic will be slower today from 08:00 to 15:00 on the Brestovsko-Busovača main road.

On the M-5 main road at the Izačić-Bihać border crossing, reconstruction works are underway on the bridge over the Mrižnica stream. Vehicles are being redirected to a temporary bypass near the works, with alternating single-lane traffic.

Rehabilitation works are ongoing on the Srbac-Derventa main road, due to which traffic suspension is planned until the end of June. During the suspension, vehicles are redirected to the alternative route Srbac-Prnjavor-Derventa.

Works have begun on replacing the expansion joint on the Ribićki Bridge, on the Konjic-Jablanica road. This is a short section (20m), and traffic is moving slowly in a single lane.

At border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are currently short.

Due to passenger registration under the new system for exiting and entering European Union countries (EES, Entry/Exit System), longer waiting times at border crossings are possible.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. Since December 2, 2025, the Karakaj border crossing has been open for all vehicle categories. At the Šepak border crossing, traffic is prohibited for all freight vehicles.
