According to the results of monitoring the election campaign for the General Elections 2014, ten largest political parties spent BAM 3,594,162.39 on paid media advertisements, reports the Patria News Agency.
However, in the post-election financial reports submitted by the parties to the Central Election Commission of BiH, under the item “costs of printing pre-election advertisements, proclamations, statements and similar in public media”, these parties reported a total of BAM 2,706,527.2, which is BAM 887,634.8 less compared to the estimated amount for media advertising according to the TI BiH analysis.
Also, the ten observed parties reported a total of BAM 791,111 for the costs of organizing pre-election rallies. TI BiH data shows that these 10 parties organized a total of 327 pre-election rallies.
According to this record, parties spent an average of around BAM 2,419 per rally, which is too small an amount, considering that food and drinks are served at rallies, that they involve costs of transportation of people from other cities, renting halls and venues, and that popular artists often entertain the gathered citizens.
The overall results of the election campaign monitoring will be published on March 30, 2015, with an overview of all costs per party, it was announced from TI BIH.
