Eleven attractive locations in Sarajevo managed by the Cantonal Public Utility Company Tržnice-Pijace Sarajevo could soon end up in private hands if this company is privatized, writes the BiH news agency Patria, a topic that is being increasingly discussed in certain circles.
This company manages the Markale and Grbavica markets and the Markale, Telali, Koševo-Ciglane, Hrasno, Kvadrant, Alipašino Polje, Dobrinja, Ilidža, and Vogošća marketplaces.
The director of this company, Jasmin Terović, told Patria that the Canton of Sarajevo is the owner of the company.
- The only body that can decide whether this company will be privatized is the KS Assembly. As director and with the entire management, we are currently focused on combating illegal sales near the marketplaces and markets - said Terović.
As Patria unofficially learns, individuals interested in building residential buildings and shopping centers on these locations have already shown interest.
We remind you that the KS Assembly did not adopt the business reports for 2013 at its session in July this year, while the report for 2014 was withdrawn from the agenda.
Terović was appointed director on August 7, 2015, and as he pointed out, huge savings have been made, and they are managing to operate without a single mark of assistance from the Canton.
