Tennis team of Bosnia and Herzegovina loses 2-0 to Japan after first day of competition

OSAKA, (Patria) - The Japanese tennis team leads against Bosnia and Herzegovina 2:0 in the play-off for the World Group of the Davis Cup after the first day in Osaka.

Taro Daniel defeated Tomislav Brkić, and Japan's lead was doubled by Yoshihito Nishioka with a win over Mirza Bašić.

Taro Daniel, the 72nd player on the ATP list, won the first singles match against Tomislav Brkić (240th ATP) with 6:4, 6:2, 7:6 (3). 

In the second match of the day's program, Yoshihito Nishioka was better than Mirza Bašić (79th ATP) with 3:0 in sets (6:3, 6:4, 6:3). The match lasted one hour and 53 minutes.

On Saturday, a doubles match is scheduled in which Brkić and Bašić will play against Ben Mclachlan and Yasutaka Uchiyama.

The remaining two singles matches will be played on Sunday, with the pairings being Daniel – Bašić and Nishioka – Brkić. 

The winner of the match Japan – Bosnia and Herzegovina will play in the World Group of the Davis Cup next season.
