Teletović: I've made peace with Musa, I'm travelling to Sweden because I will never give up on the BiH national team

Captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina basketball national team Mirza Teletović held a press conference after last night's loss to Russia and a verbal altercation with national team colleague Džanan Musa.

 Some things that were made public are untrue, it was stated at the beginning of today's press conference.

- The tensions are as they are. I came to tell the truth. Things that are untrue are being made public. I have spent my entire basketball career representing the BiH national team as the strongest national team in the world, which it has always been for me - Teletović said, writes N1.

As he said, throughout his entire national team career, he never caused an incident or provoked anyone. Regarding the incident with Musa, Teletović explained.

- We were playing in the 38th minute of the game and we have two minutes left, we are losing by eight points. We have seven to eight possessions to catch up - said the captain of the BiH basketball national team.

He added that everyone had a "hot head" and that everyone wanted that much-needed victory. Two minutes before the end of the match, he approached Musa and said:

- Everything is alright, master, just calm down - Teletović said, after which, he added, Musa said something to him.

- At that moment, the youngest player of the national team approaches me, curses and insults me - he added.

- I understand him. I am sorry that I reacted that way, I admit that I am to blame in some things. I am sorry that I reacted that way. I admit, I am to blame and I apologize to our fans. I have never shied away from responsibility in my life. But, we must start from the root of the problem - Teletović conveyed.

He added that he played for the national team when no one else wanted to play.

When asked by journalists about his relationship with coach Mulaomerović, Teletović said that the coach asked him if he could play, to which Teletović replied that he could and wanted to.

- Many think I will retire and give up on the national team. But I will never give up. As long as my legs carry me, I will play for the national team - said the captain of the BiH team, who added that he will travel to Sweden for the last game in the qualifiers.
