Teletović held a meeting with Dodik: Resolve financial problems of basketball in BiH

(Patria) - President of the Basketball Federation of BiH Mirza Teletović spent yesterday in Laktaši, where he met with the Chair of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik, with whom he discussed the problems facing Bosnian basketball.

After a long and constructive conversation, the delegation of the Basketball Federation, which also included vice-presidents Dalibor Miloš and Borislav Spasojević, Secretary General Amer Čolan, as well as Nihad Selimović and Aid Berbić, received assurances that the RS, for its part, will do everything to restore basketball in our country to its former primacy and resolve the problems it faces, especially financial ones.

After the meeting with Dodik, Teletović expressed satisfaction with the talks and hope that better days are coming for Bosnian basketball, and particularly highlighted the fact that BiH Presidency member Milorad Dodik promised to put all his resources at the disposal and help the work of the Basketball Federation of BiH.

„We discussed all the problems facing Bosnian basketball. Everyone knows that our biggest problems are financial in nature, but after the meeting with the Chair of the Presidency of BiH Milorad Dodik, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. We received firm guarantees that things will move from a deadlock and I believe that much better times await us. This is just the beginning of talks with all levels of government, because without state assistance, all sports in BiH are doomed to failure.

We do not want to allow our basketball to become an amateur sport, but for all our greats and all the generations to come, we want to create conditions in which we will create new greats and legends. I would like to thank our hosts for their hospitality and once again express hope that some things will finally start to be resolved,“ said Mirza Teletović, president of the Basketball Federation of BiH, who, together with the rest of the delegation, also watched the ABA League match between Igokea and Cibona in which the team from Laktaši celebrated victory.
