Coffins with victims of genocide arrive in Potočari

POTOČARI, (Patria) - Around 4 PM, coffins with the remains of 33 victims of the Srebrenica genocide arrived at the Potočari Memorial Center. On the 24th anniversary of the genocide, on July 11, they will finally find their final resting place. None of the skeletons of the 33 identified victims were complete, but their families decided to bury them. 

The families of the victims, mostly women, welcomed the coffins in Potočari, which will be in the hall of the former battery factory until the funeral. 

So far, 6,610 victims of the genocide have found their final resting place in the cemetery of the Srebrenica-Potočari Memorial Center, and more than 1,000 missing Srebrenica residents are still being searched for. 

On Wednesday, participants of the Peace March will also arrive in Potočari, more than 6,000 of them, who are covering a distance of over 100 km in three stages from Nezuk to Potočari, the route thousands of Srebrenica residents fled in July 1995. Only a few managed to reach the free territory.
