World media write about the Hajderovac family making a chair for Pope Francis for free

The story of father and son Salem and Edin Hajderovac from Zavidovići, who are making a chair for Pope Francis, whose visit is planned for June 6, 2015, has been published by leading world media, reports BH news agency Patria.

The craft of carpentry and woodcarving has been nurtured in this family for more than 50 years, and Salem has taught this precise craft to his sons Edin and Benjamin.

As AP writes, Salem did not sleep for seven days out of excitement when he received this responsible task. The making of the chair began a few days ago in their workshop and they will do it for free.

They have set aside all other jobs and orders and are fully dedicated to making the chair for Pope Francis, which should be completed by the end of May. The designs of the chair are a secret for now, and it is only known that they will use walnut wood, on which religious symbols will be carved, such as those on the sleeves of the Pope's robe, as well as symbols of three Bosnian cathedrals.

The visit of Pope Francis, who will hold a mass in Sarajevo, aims to strengthen brotherhood in a country devastated by war twenty years ago.

AP also writes that all peoples in BiH - Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats of any faith - see Pope Francis as a worthy successor to Pope John Paul II, who visited BiH twice.
