All airports in BiH take over KDZ screenings from the BiH Border Police

(Patria) - All four international airports in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, and Banja Luka – have fully taken over the task of conducting counter-diversionary screenings (KDZ) from the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina as of yesterday.

This action fulfills one of the key obligations from the Civil Aviation Security Program of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Minister of Communications and Transport of BiH and the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Security Committee of BiH, Edin Forto, particularly praised the management and staff of the international airports in Sarajevo, Mostar, Tuzla, and Banja Luka at today's Committee session, who, as he emphasized, have shown a high level of responsibility, professionalism, and dedication in fulfilling the obligations from the State Program.

Transferring KDZ screenings to airport personnel relieves the BiH Border Police, which has been operating under difficult circumstances for a long time due to a chronic shortage of human resources. Currently, this police agency is short of more than 700 police officers.

“The Border Police has been pointing out the problem of personnel deficit for years, and this move represents a concrete step towards a more rational distribution of responsibilities and more efficient use of resources,” Minister Forto stated.

The Ministry, in cooperation with the Directorate of Civil Aviation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHDCA) and other relevant institutions, continues its activities to improve the civil aviation system, focusing on security, compliance with international standards, and strengthening the capacity of airports throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.
