Swedes without Euros and coach

(Patria) - The Swedish Football Association dismissed coach Janne Andersson last night after failing to lead Sweden to Euro 2024.

Although Sweden defeated Estonia 2-0 last night, they did not qualify for the Euros as they finished third in Group F.

The Swedes won only ten points out of a possible 24. Belgium finished first in the group with 20 points, and Austria finished second with one point less.

Andersson had been leading the Swedish national team since the summer of 2016. He led them to the quarterfinals of the 2018 World Cup and the round of 16 of Euro 2020.

However, the Swedes failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup after that, and now also failed to qualify for Euro 2024.

It is not yet known who will succeed the 61-year-old Andersson as coach.
