(Patria) - The eleventh class of cadets of the BiH Border Police, who have met the requirements for the rank of police officer, took a solemn oath today, and will begin performing their duties from the beginning of June. A total of 98 cadets attended the basic police training of the first level.
Director of the BiH Border Police, Mirko Kuprešaković, stated that a great challenge lies ahead for this police agency.
"I have decisions from the Council of Ministers of BiH for currently three generations of 150 police officers each. From June 1st, these young people will start their duties, we are finalizing the competition for 150 police officers, it is nearing its end, only medical examinations remain, after which they will proceed with security checks and then go for training," says Kuprešaković.
He said that a request for the employment of another 300 police officers for the period 2025-2026 has been submitted.
Kuprešaković emphasized that the cadets have been deployed where the migrant pressure is greatest and will help resolve the migrant crisis.
The solemn ceremony was also attended by the Head of the EU Delegation to BiH, Johann Sattler, who stated that the EU has allocated 20 million euros annually over the past six to seven years and will continue to assist BiH institutions.
