
On the occasion of Sarajevo City Day, celebrated on April 6th, a ceremonial session of the City Council was held at the City Hall, accompanied by a fitting cultural-musical program and the awarding ceremony of the April 6th Award.
Otherwise, April 6th marked the 70th anniversary of Sarajevo's liberation after World War II.
The City also presented recognitions to individuals and associations who have contributed in various ways to a better life in Sarajevo.
Journalist Florence Hartmann was declared an Honorary Citizen of the City of Sarajevo.
The City of Sarajevo Plaque was awarded to the late commander Mustafa Hajrulahović Talijan and the Sarajevo Taxi Association.
The collective April 6th Award was given to the Association of Parents of Murdered Children of Besieged Sarajevo. The group April 6th Award was presented to Jim Marshall and Timothy Tim Clancy for spreading the good word about Sarajevo around the world.
Painter Safet Zec received the individual April 6th Award.
