Everything ready for the opening of Ahi Evran Veli Kirsehir Mosque in Olovo

(Patria) - Everything is ready for the grand opening of the Ahi Evran Veli Kirsehir Mosque in Olovo, which will be held on September 15.

As announced to MINA Agency by the Islamic Community Council of Olovo, the grand opening program will last for three days, and on the day of the grand opening, the presence of high religious and state officials from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Turkey is expected, as well as numerous guests and believers from all parts of our country.

"We are preparing for the grand opening of the mosque on September 15, and we hope that Bosnia will be in Olovo on that day. We expect a large number of people on the day of the opening. What I want to emphasize is the interest of the people in Olovo. Everyone wants to participate in some way. Being a resident of Olovo these days is a great pride, we are welcoming a day we have eagerly awaited for years," stated the president of the Islamic Community Council of Olovo, Seid Đogić.

Esad-ef. Pepić, the chief imam of Olovo, said that "great celebrations are accompanied by great preparations," emphasizing that everything is proceeding according to the planned schedule.

"We have finished the mosque, we keep it clean and fragrant, so that it can receive all believers from Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond on that day, given that this mosque was largely financed by the sister municipality of Kirsehir," said efendija Pepić.

He reminded that the first works began on October 15, 2017. Then, on November 3, 2017, the foundation stone was laid, and from 2019, there was a pause in the construction of the mosque.

"Thanks to the Diyanet Vakuf, which undertook to complete the mosque complex, this year we managed to complete the works on the mosque, the administrative building, as well as the house endowed by the Mayor of Olovo. The municipality helped with the landscaping of the exterior. Our believers are eagerly awaiting the opening. The celebration will last for three days, and we are opening the gates of Olovo for all those who want to be part of this beautiful story and atmosphere," he stated.

On this occasion, he extended an invitation to all believers to be guests at this grand celebration, both for Olovo and for the entire Islamic Community.

"Olovo awaits you, the tables of Olovo are ready, the doors of Olovo are open, welcome. This date, September 15, is a day of new history for the Islamic Community in Olovo, because on that day we are opening the city mosque complex. This is, in fact, a new impulse for Olovo. The residents of Olovo who have stayed here to live deserve this, and above all, this is a reward for our community members, who watched and rejoiced at the construction every day, and today they rejoice at its completion and use," said efendija Pepić.

It is planned that the first Friday prayer in the new city mosque will be held on September 13, led by the Sarajevo Mufti, Prof. Dr. Nedžad Grabus. After the evening prayer on Friday, a Quran Evening is planned. The next day, September 14, a Mevlud and Ilahija Evening will be held in the new mosque, as an introduction to the central ceremony on September 15, MINA reports.
