The congress of the youngest parliamentary party in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Democratic Front, will be held on September 12 in the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, where 420 delegates, members of this party, will gather, writes the Patria news agency.
As stated by Sifet Podžić, the general secretary of the DF, among these 420 delegates there will not be a single one who already holds a party function in the DF.
- So, these are our members, and for the first time we will elect the Main Board (90 members), the Supervisory Board (seven members) and the president of the DF – Podžić emphasized.
The Democratic Front was founded on April 7, 2013, in Sarajevo, and this political party positions itself as left-oriented. It has been recorded that its initiator and current president, Željko Komšić, said at the founding assembly that the party is open to everyone except “fascists and chauvinists.”
Komšić is still the only candidate for the party's president, and he was proposed by the Cantonal Board of the DF of Sarajevo Canton.
- For now, Komšić is the only candidate, and we have three more days for candidacies. Everything is ready for the Congress, and I hope everything will go well and in a democratic manner. In addition to the election of the party's bodies and president, there will also be amendments to the party's statute – Podžić added.
