Šuman after the first match: We move on

After the first friendly match against Macedonia (24:28), the coach of BiH handball players Bilal Šuman said that one can never be satisfied when losing, but that there are improvements in our team's game.

- One should not neglect the fact that we played against a team preparing for the World Championship. Again, excluding the first part of the first half and a few minutes at the beginning of the second half, we were an equal, and at times, a better opponent.

We had a lot of technical errors in that first half, but when we consolidated our forces, it was much different. There are more and more good things, our wingers are getting more balls, counter-attacks and semi-counter-attacks are working better... Of course, there are also shortcomings, which we are constantly working on and will continue to work on until we eliminate them – Šuman said after the match.

In the first match with the Macedonians, all players except goalkeeper Damir Efendić and Denis Serdarević got significant playing time. Today we play Macedonia again at 8 PM, which is an opportunity for some players to prove themselves again.

- We are working according to the plan we set. Today we will give more opportunities to some players who had less playing time in the first match. We will use this opportunity for every player to get a chance. In the first match, for example, Benjamin Burić played. Now we will give Efendić and Serdarević a chance as well. This is the case in all positions – Šuman emphasized.

Besides today's match, our team has another friendly match with the Macedonians tomorrow, both are closed-door matches. Then on January 6th, there will be no match, but two training sessions and an analysis of what has been done.

The team travels to Belgrade on January 7th, and the day after there is a match with Saudi Arabia. We play Bahrain on January 9th in the morning, and in the afternoon, a flight is scheduled back to Sarajevo, where our handball players will continue their preparations.
