Suljagić and Srebrenica Memorial Center Condemn Hate Speech at Yesterday's Rally in Banja Luka

(Patria) - Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center Emir Suljagić reacted on social media after a rally was held in Banja Luka on Thursday, attended by officials from the RS entity and from Serbia, who spoke against the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica, denied the genocide, spread hatred towards Bosniaks, and threatened secession and annexation by Serbia.

"I call on the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, regardless of nationality, living in the RS entity to resist the hysteria and hate speech of the political leaders of this entity from yesterday's rally in Banja Luka. Do it for your children and ours," Suljagić wrote.

The Srebrenica Memorial Center condemned the accusations and hate speech directed at Germany and EU member states from yesterday's rally.

"It is deeply concerning that Darko Banjac, who held an official position in the National Assembly of the RS, openly attacked the EU and called for the expansion of the 'Russian military operation,' all with the apparent approval and in the presence of leaders from Belgrade and RS.

The policy of appeasing warmongering populists like Banjac sends the wrong message to the youth and future generations in BiH, jeopardizing their prospects. We call on the international community to withdraw support mechanisms in the RS in response to open hatred and discrimination," stated the Srebrenica Memorial Center.
