Crash in Salakovac tunnel, long queues in both directions on the Mostar-Jablanica road, traffic running in one lane

(Patria) - In the Salakovac tunnel, on the M17 main road Mostar – Jablanica, a traffic accident involving two passenger cars occurred today.

According to initial information from the scene, material damage was reported, and several people were injured, although the extent of their injuries has not yet been confirmed.

Due to the traffic accident in the Salakovac tunnel (M-17 Mostar–Jablanica), traffic has been halted. Long queues have formed in both directions, BIHAMK reported.

Due to the holding of the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina cycling race in Goražde, traffic has been halted on the main road Goražde-Ustikolina-Foča from 12:00 to 14:00. Alternative routes are operational, and police are regulating traffic.

In most of Bosnia and Herzegovina, traffic is moving on wet or damp roads, and we warn of frequent landslides and advise more cautious driving. On certain sections in valleys, as well as over mountain passes, fog and low cloud cover are locally reducing visibility.

Roadworks are ongoing on the A-1 motorway section Podlugovi-Sarajevo north, as well as on the main roads: Zenica-Doboj (on the Donja Vraca-Liješnica section), Konjic-Jablanica (on the bridge near the Crnaja tunnel), Jablanica-Prozor (Mirci settlement), Jablanica-Blidinje (on the Jablanica-Kosne Luke section), Semizovac-Olovo, Gacko-Foča (in Sastavci), Mostar-Čitluk (at the entrance to Čitluk), and Jajce-Crna Rijeka.

Long queues of vehicles are present at the exit from Bosnia and Herzegovina at the border crossings: Izačić, Velika Kladuša, Gradina, and Gradiška. At other border crossings, waiting times for passenger vehicles are no longer than 30 minutes.

The Brčko border crossing is open for passenger vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes. Traffic is banned for vehicles over 5 tonnes maximum permissible mass at the Karakaj border crossing (near Zvornik). Freight vehicles over 5 tonnes are redirected to the Bratunac or Rača border crossings, while buses may use the Šepak border crossing. Freight vehicles can travel through the Šepak border crossing from 09:00 to 13:00 and from 22:00 to 06:00 (on weekends, they may cross during the 22:00 to 06:00 period).
