Two trams collide in Strasbourg, numerous injuries

(Patria) - At least 50 people were injured in a collision of two trams in the French city of Strasbourg.

French media report that at least five people are in critical condition and that emergency services are on the scene.

Police have confirmed that tram traffic near the main train station in Strasbourg has been interrupted.

Footage on social media shows injured people lying on the ground, with smoke emerging from the wreckage of the trams.

The trams collided today around 3:30 PM. BFM Television reports that one of the trams switched to another track and hit a tram that was standing at the central station in Strasbourg.
