Court of BiH confirms indictment against Dragan Spasojević and others for crimes in the Zvornik area

(Patria) - The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina has confirmed the indictment in the case of Dragan Spasojević and others, which charges the accused Dragan Spasojević, Vinko Radović and Dragomir Vasić with having committed the criminal offense of crimes against humanity through the actions described in the indictment.

The accused are, among other things, charged with having, in the period from May 30, 1992 to June 25, 1992, in the area of the Zvornik municipality, during the aggression against BiH and during the armed conflict between the VRS and the Army of the Republic of BiH in the area of the Zvornik municipality, and during the widespread and systematic attack of military, paramilitary and police forces of the so-called Serbian Republic of BiH, and later the RS, directed against the civilian Muslim population of the Zvornik municipality, which lasted from April 8, 1992 until at least the end of August 1992, knowing of the armed conflict and the widespread and systematic attack and that their actions formed part of that attack, acted contrary to the rules of international humanitarian law.

It is further stated that the accused knowingly and willingly assisted in the preparation and commission of the forced relocation of approximately 4,000 Muslim civilians from the area of the villages of Đulići, Klisa and surrounding villages, and certain accused knowingly and willingly assisted in the illegal detention of approximately 600 male civilians of Muslim nationality from the same area, and during their separation they cursed and beat some of the separated civilians with fists, feet, rifle butts and other suitable objects, and demanded that they hand over all their money, gold, valuables and documents, while unidentified Serbian soldiers killed some Muslim civilians during the separation.
