Court of BiH orders pre-trial detention for Trnka and Hatibović

The Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina today ordered one-month pre-trial detention for Nihad Trnka and Salem Hatibović, confirmed for the BiH news agency Patria (NAP), the lawyer of one of the suspects.

Both are suspected of a terrorist attack on the Presidency of BiH. Nihad Trnka's lawyer, Muhidin Kapo, told NAP that his client and Hatibović will spend a month in pre-trial detention at the Zenica Penitentiary, as there is no space in the detention unit of the Court of BiH, NAP reports. 

Having reviewed the submitted evidence, the Court determined that there is a well-founded suspicion that the suspects committed the criminal offense they are accused of, and ordered their pre-trial detention due to the existence of special circumstances indicating a risk of influencing witnesses, accomplices, or cover-up individuals, as well as due to the existence of extraordinary circumstances which, considering the manner of execution and the consequences of the committed criminal offense, indicate that releasing the suspects would result in a real threat to public order.
