Court of BiH rejects Snaga naroda's appeal: Ramo Isak's video still on YouTube

(Patria) - The decision by the Central Election Commission to fine the political party Snaga naroda of Ramo Isak 6,000 KM and order the removal of the political party's video from social networks and YouTube channels, became final after the Court of BiH rejected Snaga naroda's appeal on July 15, 2024.

The CEC fined Ramo Isak's party for conducting a premature election campaign.

"The decision orders the political party Snaga naroda and Ramo Isak, the federal Minister of Internal Affairs and president of this political party, to remove the controversial audio-video spot for which the CEC imposed a fine from the social networks Facebook, Instagram, and the Snaga naroda YouTube channel, and to inform all supporters and candidates of this political party for the upcoming Local Elections 2024 that they are obliged to refrain from public advertising and conducting an election campaign in electronic, online, and print media and via social networks or any form of public campaign advertising before the official start of the election campaign," the explanation states.

The appeal filed by Snaga naroda to the Court of BiH stated that the CEC's order to remove the video spot constitutes an attempt at censorship.

In its response to the appeal, the CEC rejected these claims, and once again emphasized which legal provisions were violated by the political party Snaga naroda and its president Ramo Isak.

The Court, in its explanation, states that the CEC correctly ordered the political party Snaga naroda and its president and supporter Ramo Isak to remove the controversial audio-video spot that was published by them on the Snaga naroda political party's YouTube channel and on their Facebook and Instagram social media profiles.

The video spot is still available on YouTube and has over 305,000 views.
