SARAJEVO, (Patria) - At the end of May, the Sarajevo Canton Tourist Board received a pre-lawsuit warning due to non-payment of 252,000 KM to the company Dinalsa for the design and construction of a kiosk on Baščaršija. The director of TZ KS, Nermin Muzur, said on Thursday on Bjelašnica that a real struggle lies ahead to determine the actual value of the so-called tourist info center.
The company Dinalsa, through a public procurement procedure in November 2018, was awarded the project for the design and construction of this facility on a "turnkey" basis, but its price is unrealistic regardless of the location, i.e., the fact that it is located on Baščaršija itself. The facility was completed in February this year, but has not yet been handed over for use to TZ KS.
For 250,000 KM, at least five such facilities could have been built, says a Sarajevo architect who is well acquainted with the entire case.
"No matter how you calculate the square footage of the space, the material used, the location, all the finishing work, you cannot arrive at that figure," says the architect.
As the Patria News Agency learns, an assessment has already been carried out by a recognized institution that performs such oversight, and it has been determined that the maximum value of the project done by Dinalsa is slightly less than 80,000 KM.
The project for the construction of the most expensive tourist info center was approved during the tenure of former TZ KS director Midhat Hubijar.
Given that TZ KS currently has no intention of paying for this kiosk, everything suggests that the entire case could end up in court.
