Experts claim: ISIL members do not return victims' bodies

There is still no official confirmation that Tomislav Salopek was killed, but new details have emerged about the circumstances of his abduction. The abductors contacted the French company for which Tomislav worked in Cairo. They demanded a million-dollar amount for his release, but the company is not allowed to reveal the sum, reports the Patria News Agency.

The company's spokesperson stated that they have been in contact with both Croatian and French authorities the entire time, and they sent their first response to the abductors the day after the ransom demand.

"We received that demand a few minutes after the abductors contacted Tomislav's wife. The demand was not signed, we had no contact other than an email address. The next morning, we replied to the email and asked the abductors for confirmation that Tomislav was alive and gave them a phone number to call us. We sent that email every day, and we received no response," revealed CGG spokesperson Christophe Barnini.

Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Vesna Pusić stated yesterday that the search for Tomislav would continue as long as there is hope.

"Services and specific experts are working on it, but it is true that at this moment it is not confirmed and it is not certain whether it will ever be fully confirmed," said Pusić, writes Index.
