Hundreds of students visited the Memorial Center in Potočari

Fourth-year students of the Faculty of Philosophy from Tuzla, History Department, organized a scientific excursion on Monday to the Veljaci Memorial Complex in Bratunac and Potočari in Srebrenica, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

This is the tenth consecutive excursion organized by students from Tuzla on April 6.

This year, students were joined by pupils from the high schools "Meša Selimović" and "Ismet Mujezinović", pupils from Primary School "Tinja", as well as 110 pupils from the Nova Kasaba educational center, which operates within Primary School Vladislav Skarić - Sarajevo.
Mothers from the Association "Žene Podrinja", the Association "Žene Srebrenice i Žepe", and camp survivors spoke to the students and pupils, reminding them of the horrific events that occurred in these areas during the aggression against Bosnia and Herzegovina from 1992 to 1995.

The group also visited the battery factory in the immediate vicinity of the Potočari Memorial Center, the building used by the Dutch UNPROFOR battalion as its headquarters in 1994 and 1995, where one of the largest genocides on European soil after World War II also took place.

The visit concluded with watching a film about the suffering in Srebrenica, especially in the days after July 11, 1995.
Students handed over humanitarian aid to several of the most vulnerable returnee families. The common conclusion of this visit was that we must talk about and teach the younger, especially post-war generations, to remember this evil. Those who do not know their history can expect the same, or even worse, to happen again in the future, the students said.
