Hundreds of neighbors prayed the funeral prayer for Nerdin Ibrić (24) on Thursday afternoon at the local cemetery in Kučić Kula near Zvornik, reports the Patria News Agency.
Ibrić was killed on Monday shortly before 8 PM, after he attacked the police station in Zvornik, killing one and wounding two police officers. The motives for Ibrić's attack on the police station are still unknown. Neighbors and relatives know him as a decent young man. They are trying to connect his attack on the police with radical Salafists with whom he allegedly associated in recent months.
The Army of Republika Srpska killed Ibrić's father in 1992, along with about 750 of his neighbors, so the motives for his attack on the police could also be revenge.
Police officer Dragan Đurić, whom Ibrić killed, was on the list of suspects for war crimes against Bosniaks in Srebrenica in 1995, writes NAP.
