(Patria) - SDP BiH Vice-President Igor Stojanović, as a guest on BHT's morning program this morning, also spoke about the election of the new president of this party.
The congress is scheduled for June 28, and according to all indications, the current president Nermin Nikšić will have his mandate extended again.
Stojanović confirmed this, believing that elections will not even take place.
"I don't think there will be any elections, that's how I see the situation within SDP. I expect a majority at the Congress to say that elections should happen only in some local organizations, but not at the level of the president. Personally, I think it would be good for SDP to have elections and to elect a president. We shouldn't wait for the SDA's practice where the president is practically no longer alive before electing a new one," concluded Stojanović.
He stated that almost everyone in the BiH Presidency holds such a view and advocates for Nikšić to remain.
Nikšić's mandate was already extended at the Congress in June 2023, and the same scenario is clearly being prepared for the upcoming Congress.
