Damage in Poznan: First of 10 new Solaris buses that will run on Sarajevo streets produced

(Patria) - Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Adnan Šteta, accompanied by representatives of the KS Ministry of Transport, visited the Polish city of Poznan, where he met with the heads of the Solaris company and was informed about the company's work processes, as well as the production process of the 10 new Trollino 18 vehicles that will run on the streets of Sarajevo.



- I thank the Solaris company for the invitation and the opportunity to learn about their work. I am happy that today we had the chance to see the production of Sarajevo's trolleybuses.

The first of 10 trolleybuses has been produced, and today we also conducted a test drive on the streets of Poznan, which makes me particularly satisfied - said Šteta during the visit.



In addition to being equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and video surveillance, the trolleybuses will have the capability to run on batteries. The total capacity of the new trolleybuses is 120 passengers, with 36 seats. The trolleybuses are 18 meters long and 2.55 meters wide, and are fully adapted for people with disabilities.

- In addition to the 25 new trolleybuses previously procured, 10 new Solaris trolleybuses will arrive this year, making a total of 35 new vehicles in a five-year period. We are completely renewing the fleet, from buses and minibuses to trams and trolleybuses.



Every mode of transport is important to us. We have shown this in the past period when we renewed the infrastructure, procured new vehicles, and did not stop developing. In five years, we have done what citizens have been waiting for for over 40 years, because someone before us did not want, know, or intend to do it.

Thanks to the money of all our citizens, we are investing in the development of Sarajevo and improving the quality of life. The work continues - concluded Šteta.



In the coming period, the production of the remaining trolleybuses is expected, along with procedural activities between the Solaris company, GRAS, and the KS Ministry of Transport. The expected start of delivery of the new trolleybuses is summer this year.

During the visit to the Solaris company, the delegation familiarized themselves with all the vehicle models that this renowned company produces for 870 cities in 33 countries across Europe and the world.
