Damage caused by the burning of the Archives of BiH will be known after the cleaning of the depots

The Council of Ministers of BiH at today's session took note of the Information on the damage caused by the burning of the Archives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the record of the state of archival material and depots. The Information states that the total damage will be possible to assess in full only after the cleaning of the depot which was set on fire in the basement of the BiH Presidency building.

We remind that valuable archival material and a significant part of archival equipment were destroyed in the fire on February 7th this year. 

Among other things, the ministers took note of the Information from the Directorate for Economic Planning on the movement of macroeconomic indicators for January – December 2013, which states that the BiH economy achieved slight economic growth in the first three quarters of 2013 thanks to a reduction in the foreign trade deficit (16 percent), and a similar situation continued in the fourth quarter.

The deficit reduction was due to a nominal increase in exports of 5.8 percent and a decrease in imports of 4 percent. Among the positive trends was industrial production, which at the end of 2013 achieved a growth of 6.7 percent. The number of employed persons in BiH at the end of 2013 was 687,93, while the number of unemployed was 553.5 thousand.
