Šteta: 15 new minibuses soon on Sarajevo streets

(Patria) - The Minister of Transport of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Adnan Šteta is on an official visit to Turkey, where, together with representatives of the KS Ministry of Transport, he visited the company Isuzu, the manufacturer of 15 new minibuses that will soon arrive in Sarajevo.

All 15 new minibuses have been produced, and the delivery of the first five vehicles for Sarajevo begins in the coming days, followed by the delivery of the remaining minibuses.

These are modern vehicles that meet Euro 6 standards, are adapted for people with disabilities, equipped with modern equipment, and will provide citizens with safer, more reliable, and higher quality public transport.

The maximum passenger capacity is 41, with 25 seats.

The new minibuses represent a continuation of the public transport modernization process in KS and an improvement in the quality of service for citizens, especially in parts of the city where minibus transport plays a key role in the daily connection of settlements with the city center.

- For years, there was no investment in public transport; the vehicles were old, unreliable, and citizens lost faith in the system. Today, we have a completely different picture of Sarajevo.

We have procured new trams, trolleybuses, buses, renovated the existing tram line, are building a new tram line, modernizing the infrastructure, and now we are renewing the minibus transport.

I am proud and satisfied. All 15 minibuses have been produced and will soon be on our streets.

These are not promises; these are concrete projects and changes that are coming to the citizens of Sarajevo. We all remember well how it was before - Šteta stated.

He adds that the goal of the KS Ministry of Transport is for citizens in every part of KS to have safe, modern, and quality public transport, and that investments in the renewal and modernization of the public transport system will continue in the future.

During the visit, a meeting was held with company representatives, discussions were held about the production process, delivery plans, and a tour of the factory was organized.
