Statistics for October: Most births and deaths in Sarajevo Canton

The Federal Statistical Office has published data on the number of births and deaths for the month of October, writes the BH News Agency Patria.

In October, 1,774 babies were born (838 male and 906 female), and 1,676 people died. The natural population growth rate is positive. The largest number of babies born were in Sarajevo Canton with 391, Tuzla Canton with 319, and Zenica-Doboj Canton with 279 babies.

The largest number of deaths were in Sarajevo Canton with 337, Tuzla Canton with 322, and Zenica-Doboj Canton with 286. Compared to the previous month, there was a decrease in the number of births, as well as a decrease in the number of deaths.

In the same period, in October, 1,112 marriages were concluded, and 97 were divorced. The largest number of marriages concluded were in Tuzla Canton with 251, Sarajevo Canton with 232, and Zenica-Doboj Canton with 231. The largest number of divorces were in Tuzla Canton with 35, Una-Sana Canton and Zenica-Doboj Canton with 16 each, while 10 divorces were concluded in Sarajevo Canton.
