Residents of Vogošća still without heating, gathering planned in front of the Sarajevo Canton Government building: Who is playing with our lives and health?

(Patria) - Residents living in Vogošća are still without heating, even though temperatures are dropping and apartments are cold. On Saturday, thermal energy was briefly supplied, but there is no permanent solution due to the negligence of the relevant ministry and Minister Bojan Bošnjak. The company BAGS Energotehnika has not received money from the Sarajevo Canton, which is the majority owner of the company, leaving hundreds of Vogošća residents without heating.

Residents of Vogošća this morning also appealed to the authorities through an open letter to resolve this pressing issue.

"The worst thing is to have something and then lose it. This weekend, as residents of Vogošća who (do not) heat with district heating, we felt that firsthand. With the timid heating that appeared on Saturday morning and evening, we said goodbye already on Sunday.

Although a welcome guest in Vogošća homes, thermal energy decided to escape through the main heating pipeline in Ugorsko. And it is not the first time. The same fault was repaired in November last year. This year, we were assured that all known faults and critical points had been repaired. Only fuel oil is missing.

Whose hostages are the residents of Vogošća, and who is playing with our consumer rights, quality of life, and health? Should we overwhelm the healthcare system with our colds and organ inflammations caused by cold apartments?

Will the authorities finally seriously address our problem and offer concrete solutions that will not be to our detriment? Can the minister responsible for fuel oil and heating pipes visit the company that should deliver thermal energy to Vogošća apartments? Perhaps meet at the Vogošća Municipality building with the mayor and concerned, freezing citizens? Do we really have to seek a solution to our problem on the street?

Residents of Vogošća had submitted a request for a gathering in front of the Canton building, which they withdrew as a sign of goodwill because they thought that those responsible and competent had finally sat down at the table and found common ground, in the interest of the citizens.

But perhaps we can more easily endure the cold dressed in layers, in a crowd and outdoors," the residents state.
