Emergency Situations Headquarters: Bijeljina prepares for possible arrival of refugees

The Emergency Situations Headquarters in Bijeljina today reviewed possible solutions in case the refugee crisis spreads to this area, reports the Patria news agency.

At the session of the Headquarters in a narrower composition, it was concluded that the Republic Administration of Civil Protection should be asked for guidelines and instructions on how to act if migrants on their way to Western Europe turn towards the Semberija region.

It was emphasized that continuous contact should be maintained with the police and the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to be informed about the security situation in the city and its immediate surroundings.

The Emergency Situations Headquarters ordered the Civil Protection Department in Bijeljina to prepare available material and technical resources, and all institutions, organizations and companies important for protection and rescue in the city area were also called to be on standby if needed.

In one of the conclusions, it was stated that a possible location for providing first aid in case of need should also be considered, ATV reported.
