What is happening at the Indirect Taxation Authority: National balance disrupted, Džakula hires most people from his hometown of Čapljina!

The story of crime at the Indirect Taxation Authority of BiH, following the arrest of former director Kemal Čaušević, seems to have no end in sight, and the BiH Prosecutor's Office is intensively working on this case, writes the Patria news agency.

The testimony of Čaušević, published by Patria, has stirred up public opinion, as Čaušević mentioned many politicians who allegedly asked him for various favors in exchange for committing criminal acts.

However, a group of employees from the ITA contacted our editorial office, wishing to point out certain criminal activities of the current Authority, but on condition of anonymity.

They stated for starters that out of 2,500 ITA employees, only about a hundred are members of the institution's union, while all others, as they claim, have "given up on Mehmedalija Osmić, president of the ITA union, and his like-minded associates".

- Osmić holds press conferences on the orders of director Miro Džakula, precisely when the director's position is shaky and when the topic needs to be diverted from the real issues. We have to remain silent, because apart from Ratko Kovačević, who went from expert associate to head of department, other employees are forbidden to contact the media – say the employees.

The employees further stated that they do not want to defend Kemal Čaušević, but that the BiH Prosecutor's Office should also look into the actions of Miro Džakula, who closely cooperated with Zlatko Lagumdžija, Dragan Čović, Vjekoslav Bevanda, and Nikola Špirić.

- Let them answer us how the building in Sarajevo was bought, how the buildings in Mostar and Tuzla were equipped, how excise stamps are printed in Grude, how customs operates in Gradiška and Brod, and how in Grude and Široki Brijeg – our sources ask.

They further state that fear and terror in the ITA are sown by Božo Zovko, Džakula's chief of staff.

- We claim that Zovko and Osmić are fabricating various documents for the BiH Prosecutor's Office for anyone who dares to speak out about anything. And so far, none of these people have been convicted; on the contrary, the accused sue the ITA, win in court, get paid, return to work, and no one is held accountable for the harassment of people – say the employees.

The assistant director for customs is still Zdravko Cvjetinović, who is allegedly living in abundance somewhere, just like Čaušević, the employees state, while the assistant director for taxes, Saudin Terzić, a protégé of Lagumdžija, is honest but not strong enough, which is why Džakula values him, as he cannot accomplish anything without him.

- Thus, Božo Zovko, with Džakula's consent, manages the entire ITA, and with the help of Osmić and a number of others who have advanced during Džakula's term, mostly Croats, and other obedient individuals, they call the shots – they further emphasize.

The ITA has been boasting about increased revenues for some time, but employees claim this is solely due to the increase in excise taxes on cigarettes and tobacco.

- Other revenues show a decline in tax collection – reveals our source, adding that someone should finally investigate why the ITA mostly hires Croats, and specifically from Čapljina, which is director Džakula's hometown.

- The national balance has been disrupted in favor of Croats from Čapljina, to the detriment of Bosniaks from Sarajevo and Tuzla. But we have to remain silent and endure – state the sources.
