What is the Supervisory Board doing: Salamović under prohibition measures, who is managing the company KJKP Rad?

(Patria) - The Supervisory Board of KJKP Rad has not yet authorized one of the two executive directors in this company to perform the duties of acting director, i.e., to manage the company, after the Cantonal Court in Sarajevo, upon the proposal of the KS Prosecutor's Office, imposed measures prohibiting director Nijaz Salamović from performing his duties as of October 17.

The Cantonal Court in Sarajevo confirmed to Patria that they have no knowledge that the court's decision was not complied with.

"The court, in accordance with the law and procedural rules, delivered the relevant decision to the parties, defense attorneys, and companies for which this decision is relevant, and the court has no information that the decision was not complied with," they stated in their response.

However, what is surprising is that the Supervisory Board has not determined who will sign the necessary documentation to ensure the normal functioning of KJKP Rad. Although decisions of the Supervisory Board are published on the KJKP Rad website, the last one is from October 2, 2024.

KJKP Rad has two executive directors who could take over the management of the company, given that they are not covered by the investigation of the KS Prosecutor's Office. However, it is now up to the Supervisory Board to enable the normal functioning of the company in consultation with the relevant ministry and the Government of KS.

Otherwise, the Supervisory Board could be held responsible if harmful consequences arise for the company's operations and the employees of KJKP Rad.

We remind you that the KS Prosecutor's Office also suspects members of the Supervisory Board, who have since changed, of enabling the illegal appointment of Nijaz Salamović first as executive director and then as director of KJKP Rad.

"By order of the acting prosecutor of the KS Prosecutor's Office, members of the Police Administration of the MUP KS deprived Nijaz Salamović, director of the utility company 'Rad,' and Reuf Sulejmanović, former president of the Supervisory Board, of their liberty. Six other persons are under investigation in this case, including the former director and members of the Supervisory Board of this utility company. They are suspected of illegally appointing Salamović first as executive director and then as director of the company over the past three years, even though he did not meet the conditions for these positions. The appointment was made despite warnings from the Anti-Corruption Office about irregularities in the appointment process. Thus, Salamović, who is suspected of fabricating his work experience and managerial experience throughout the process, was enabled to obtain an illegal benefit of approximately 120,000 marks, which he realized by performing functions he could not and should not have performed," the KS Prosecutor's Office stated.

Given that Reuf Sulejmanović was appointed acting executive director of the FBiH Railways a few months ago, following the court measure, he no longer performs that function.

The KS Prosecutor's Office requested these measures to protect the public interest, i.e., the interest of the company, and to enable the unimpeded completion of the investigation.

Salamović is a cadre of the People and Justice party, and Sulejmanović of Our Party.

The members of the Supervisory Board who are under investigation changed the company's Statute to enable Salamović to meet the conditions for the director position.

Among the suspects is also the former director of KJKP Rad, Vera Arnautović.
