What is the background: Zijad Blekić is closing the brokerage house Eurohaus!

Zijad Blekić, a controversial businessman, is closing one of the more prominent Bosnian brokerage houses, Eurohaus, in Sarajevo, which he heads, the BH news agency Patria has learned.

Blekić's name is linked to several scandals in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro regarding the purchase and trading of shares in several companies that have failed, leaving their workers without paid dues.

One such example is the former construction giant Vranica, co-owned by the Montenegrin company Absolute, behind which stands Veselin Vesko Barović, and with which Zijad Blekić's name is also associated. Workers themselves consider Blekić one of the most responsible for the collapse of this company. All the malversations that occurred around the companies Vranica and Unioninvest were carried out through Eurohaus, media previously reported.

Incidentally, Blekić has given statements to prosecutors several times regarding the purchase and trading of shares.

According to data from the Securities Commission, the brokerage house Eurohaus received its operating license on March 17, 2005. The founders are DUF for the management of the investment fund “Euroinvest” AD Podgorica with a 49.44% stake, Fadil Ćosibegović from Sarajevo with 30.99%, Vedranka Gadžić from Mostar with 5.26%, Suad Kurtćehajić with 9.30%, and Šotra Bojša with 5% stake.

Incidentally, Blekić also heads the Supervisory Board of the Sarajevo Stock Exchange (SASE).
