What prompted Dodik to bow to the victims of the Srebrenica genocide

Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić will attend the ceremony marking the 20th anniversary of the suffering of Bosniaks in Srebrenica in Potočari on July 11, I learn from well-informed political circles in Belgrade, reports the Patria news agency blog of Slobodan Vasković.

The same sources claim that Vučić asked Milorad Dodik to be in Potočari with him on July 11.

Dodik confided in a small circle of his associates that he has no intention of going to Potočari, despite pressure from Belgrade.

However, Vučić is determined in his request that Dodik also appear at the commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre in Potočari.

Precisely because of this, Dodik organized a surprise visit to the Potočari Memorial Center on April 16 and laid a wreath on the monument to the Bosniak victims.

It is evident that Dodik, with this move, wants to gauge public opinion and assess whether it will be good for him or not to appear in Srebrenica on July 11.

Vučić recently said in an interview with Nezavisne novine that it is still too early to say whether he will attend the ceremony in Potočari, emphasizing that he "condemns this terrible crime and respects every victim."

The International Court of Justice in The Hague ruled on February 26, 2007, that genocide against Bosniaks occurred in the Srebrenica area, committed by members of the Serbian army and police.
