SSSBH: Employers no longer have any valid excuse not to pay workers aid

(Patria) - The Federation of Independent Trade Unions (SSSBH) of Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed today's Decree of the FBiH Government, which gives employers in FBiH the option to pay workers aid of 2,520 KM, which will not be taxed.

"SSSBH welcomes any solution that will improve the economic and social position of workers in FBiH, including today's Decree of the FBiH Government.

Given that in previous months they persistently tried to convince the public that they wanted to pay higher wages to workers, but were unable to due to the high rate of taxes and contributions, today's Decree is an excellent opportunity for all employers to show in the next six months whether they were telling the truth.

By paying an amount of 420 KM each month for the next half year, which will not be taxed, it will ensure that the minimum wage for all workers receiving it is slightly higher than 1,000 KM.

The Decree offers employers an even more favorable solution than what is foreseen by the Draft Law on Minimum Wage, so they will not have any valid excuse not to pay the aforementioned amount along with the salary to workers for the next six months.

Although today's Decree of the FBiH Government is a positive signal for workers in FBiH, it does not absolve it of the obligation to fulfill what was stated in Prime Minister Nikšić's exposé, that the Law on Minimum Wage of FBiH will be adopted, defining it at 1,000 KM.
