(Patria) - On Monday, February 10, at 12:00 PM in Sarajevo, in front of the building of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a protest will be held organized by an informal group of students and residents of Donja Jablanica, after even four months following the tragedy in which 19 people lost their lives, there has been no progress in the investigation, no recovery and reconstruction plan, nor do residents have any concrete assistance from the state.
Support for the protests has been given by students from numerous BiH cities, university professors, public figures, and citizens. It should be recalled that residents of Donja Jablanica have organized protests on several occasions themselves, briefly blocking the M-17 road that passes through Donja Jablanica, but their appeal had no one to hear.
It took two months just to start the remediation of a part of the railway at Komadinovo vrelo, and it was restored thanks to a donation from the Turkish company Cengiz. The railway is finally functional and rail traffic towards Ploče has begun.
For Monday, the announcement of a public call for the reconstruction of residential buildings destroyed or damaged in the 2024 floods is also announced, within the framework of the EU project to support flood recovery in BiH. After the EU provided a donation of 20 million euros, the EU Delegation, in cooperation with UNDP and IOM, will implement the public call and monitor the implementation of projects and the spending of money.
