High school students from all over BiH gather in Sarajevo from September 4 to 7

The General Assembly of the Association of High School Students in Bosnia and Herzegovina is the name of the event that this organization has been organizing since the beginning of its work.

It is a unique event that will gather over 100 high school students from 54 local communities across Bosnia and Herzegovina during its four-day duration, from September 4 to 7. The General Assembly will be held at the Hotel "Hollywood" in Sarajevo, which is also the host of the event, reports the Patria News Agency.

- The General Assembly represents the icing on the cake of the Association of High School Students' work on an annual level. The coordinators of our local teams and their members work diligently 365 days a year implementing various projects and activities in their communities, with the aim of achieving the common good and improving the status of high school students.

As a kind of reward for this, as well as an opportunity to meet their peers from all parts of BiH, we enable them to participate in this event, stated Amar Kavgić, Head of the Communications and Public Relations Department of ASuBiH.

In addition to the formal activities of electing members of the new Management Board and the organization's president, participants will have the opportunity to attend various workshops, trainings, and lectures with the aim of primarily empowering them personally and encouraging them to implement concrete actions in their communities.

- We always strive to give our events a new touch from year to year. Therefore, in addition to participants from BiH, at this year's General Assembly, we expect the participation of representatives from our partner organizations from the Balkan region, as well as Europe. Our organization is the sole representative of our country in the Union of European Secondary School Organizations (OBESSU), and our goal at such and similar events is to bring the practices of other countries closer to our high school students, added Kavgić.

The Association of High School Students in BiH (ASuBiH) is a non-governmental, non-partisan, and non-political organization that brings together high school students, as well as the Councils of Students of secondary schools in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The main goal is to improve the status of high school students in BiH through their rights and the advocacy of their ideas. Through its projects, the Association educates, connects, informs high school students, and familiarizes them with their rights. The Association operates through local teams in currently 54 local communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
