
The Central Election Commission of BiH rejected the candidacies of several cantonal deputies for the FBiH House of Peoples this week due to changes in ethnicity, writes the BiH news agency Patria.
So far, the lists of candidates from five cantonal assemblies have been approved.
When the list of candidates for the FBiH House of Peoples from the Sarajevo Canton Assembly is considered, which includes Haris Pleho (BOSS) and Nermin Bjelak (BPS-Sefer Halilović) as candidates for the Serb Club, who declared themselves as belonging to the "others" category for the 2012 Municipal Elections, and as Serbs for the 2014 General Elections, their candidacies will also be rejected.
Instead of Pleho, the candidate from the Democratic Front, Srđan Sužnjević, will go to the FBiH House of Peoples, Patria has learned.
The Vice President of the Federation of BiH, Svetozar Pudarić, also expressed concern about the change of ethnicity in the case of two deputies of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Haris Pleho and Nermin Bjelak (Serbs).
He sent a letter to the Central Election Commission of BiH. Among other things, Pudarić stated that he is concerned about the possible consequences that the unresolved status of the two Serb deputies in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, Haris Pleho and Nermin Bjelak, could have in the election of delegates to the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.
According to unofficial information from the CEC, in addition to violating the Election Law of BiH, Pleho and Bjelak could also face criminal charges for deception and false representation.
