SHAMEFUL: Parents Paid for Best Female Mathematicians from FBiH to Attend Olympics in Romania

The best mathematicians from FBiH paid for their own trip to the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), which is being held in Romania, Patria has learned.

There was no money for them in Fadil Novalić's government.

Four of the best young mathematicians from Bosnia and Herzegovina are traveling today to the European Girls' Mathematical Olympiad. The costs for mathematicians from the Republika Srpska, Milica Babić and Tijana Babić, were paid by the Republican Pedagogical Institute of RS. Authorities from FBiH ignored the requests of competitors from FBiH. The competitor Adisa Bolić received money for the trip from the mayor of the municipality of Bosanski Petrovac. The other competitor, Neira Kurtović, as well as the guides, received money from parents and friends.

For weeks, the competitors tried to reach the SDA minister of education and science, Elvira Dilberović. Or someone from the cantonal authorities. Both declared themselves incompetent.

These are top female mathematicians. The best in the region. Young Bosnian-Herzegovinian mathematician Adisa Bolić won a gold medal at the European Mathematical Cup last year. Among more than 120 participants from all over Europe and the world, Bolić won the maximum number of points and a valuable gold medal.

Neira Kurtović is also a recipient of multiple medals at prestigious world mathematics competitions.

Unfortunately, there was no money for these talented mathematicians in Fadil Novalić's government. They had two choices: either give up the competition or ask their parents for money.

Meanwhile, the prime minister and his ministers spend thousands of marks on expensive dinners and luxury cars. Ministers spend thousands of convertible marks of taxpayer money annually on gifts and representation alone.

The modest mathematicians tried to hide the shame of the Federal government. Primarily Minister Dilberović's shame. The shameful news was revealed a few hours before the mathematicians departed from Sarajevo for Romania, writes Patria.
