
(Patria) - Police officers of the Border Police Station Trebinje, acting in accordance with the operational action "DSC 2", prevented the smuggling of 9,350 packs of cigarettes worth approx. 40,000 KM. The cigarettes in question were attempted to be smuggled into BiH from Montenegro by a BiH citizen driving a "Nissan Terano" off-road vehicle without license plates.
"Criminal processing of the person suspected of committing the criminal offense of Smuggling under Article 214 of the Criminal Code of BiH is underway. In accordance with the order of the acting prosecutor of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and the judge for preliminary proceedings of the Court of BiH, an on-site investigation was carried out, and the smuggled cigarettes, vehicle, and items that can serve as evidence in the proceedings were seized.
We note that the Border Police Station Trebinje was extremely affected by the migrant crisis during 2019 and 2020, and by the decision of the Director of the BiH Border Police, Zoran Galić, the Mobile Unit for Support and Control Čapljina is available to this unit with personnel, specialized equipment, and service dogs," the Border Police announced.
